Foundations of Digital Marketing
Digital marketing can be divided into two parts, free, and paid marketing.
Nowadays, with high competition and low barriers to entry, everyone
searches for low cost or free marketing tools. However, in order to decide
which tools would be the most beneficial for your business, you have to
choose which marketing strategy to focus on and tackle.
The marketing strategies can be further broken apart to:
- Display advertising
- Video marketing
- Content creation and curation
- Search engine optimization
- Affiliate marketing

Magic of Social Media Marketing
Today’s post will focus on social media marketing. After all, it is the current trend.
Instagram is my favorite advertising platform, yet, the advertising for
Instagram is done through Facebook Ads. Facebook Ads is one of the tools that
is costly; however, can be adjusted to your personal budget.
One of the ways Instagram can become a platform for free marketing is to grow
organic traffic. Organic traffic is an audience you build through engagement
within the social media platforms. When you build a relationship with your audiences
they become more prone to regularly chequing your business profiles, advertising,
and promotions. Once that relationship is established, your organic audiences can
easily be converted into customers.
If you are not an Instagram user, do not worry, the creator of the course from the title,
Anson Alexander, also highly recommends:
- Google Ad Manager
- Propeller Ads
- Nanigans

Are Digital Tools Enough?
Let’s put this simple, no. Now you might wonder, what?! Let me explain.
You can pay all you want for digital marketing; however, your ads or
promotions must be appealing to the targetted audiences. Thankfully,
there are many designing tools Alexander recommends in his course, such as:
To learn how to utilize each, I highly recommend to watch the course,
apply what would work best for your business, learn it, try it out, and never
worry if you fail, the first, second, or 5th try.
It is ultimately a process of trial and error until you discover which marketing strategy,
and platform, works best for your audience. This may include negative revenues
in the beginning, but it is important to remain on the path until you discover what works
best for your business.

Learning Insights
The Alexander’s course was brought up to me during one of my college courses.
I had to watch it, and summarize it. I find summaries a great tool for deep analyzing
of the content, self-reflection, and a learning process. Another great thing that
was added onto the summary is the marking. Marking allows us to build constructive
criticism, once again reflect, and improve.
In the business, social media platforms could be used for the building of constructive
criticism through the form of reviews, hashtags, tags, and posts. Social media is filled
with insights, engagement, and opportunities for improvement, and growth.
One thing that the summary reflections have thought me is to provide more details,
more information. Information is so accessible nowadays that it’s hard to find the
right kind, the educative, and simple information. When it comes to digital marketing,
I am by no means a certified professional, and therefore, if you are looking for more
information on digital marketing, more knowledge, tips, and tricks, hop on to the
course and perhaps build your own summary, and marketing strategy.
